I was in bed, but noticed Ranger, my German shepherd, was on the prowl, his ears up. I heed his instincts.

I turned on a light and told them to identify themselves. They did as you’ll see, by I kept my weapon. It de-escalated from there.
The officers told me they’d received a call from someone claiming to be in my home and hiding while I shot people.
