INTERNET SUFFERS ANOTHER MASS OUTAGE
CLOUDFARE DOWN
HACK?
Cloudflare had a huge outage today, and it took a big chunk of the internet down with it. Sites that normally never go dark all started breaking at once. X had thousands of outage reports, AIPAC’s site and Track AIPAC went down, and even stuff like Spotify, ChatGPT, and Downdetector were acting busted. Cloudflare said it came from a mess inside their global network right as they were doing some maintenance, which is terrible timing.
How did one Cloudflare failure manage to take down so much of the internet at the same time?
Service provider Cloudflare has confirmed it is experiencing issues, and is investigating the situation.
The company said: “Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which impacts multiple customers: Widespread 500 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API also failing. We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem.“
This comes just weeks after a major AWS outage took down a sizable chunk of the internet for several hours.

Nearly 11,000 people reported issues with X on Tuesday, Nov. 18, with many having problems with the app and website, according to downdetector.com. Thousands were also reporting issues with Cloudflare, a network that secures website services, including downdetector.com, which appeared to be offline briefly.
Spotify and Open AI were also having issues on Monday morning, according to downdetector.com.
