Chevy Chase’s fans joke he’s been spending time with Jay Leno after sporting mysterious black eye in photo
Chevy Chase shared a sweet photo of himself jubilantly hugging his baby granddaughter on Monday.
Plenty of fans were charmed by the sweet display on Instagram, but others shared their concern in the comments section, as the 81-year-old Vacation star was sporting a massive black eye in the photo.
He didn’t bother to explain the dark bruising, which looked fairly fresh, and some fans joked in the comments that he had been ‘hiking with Jay Leno,’ after the former Tonight Show host reportedly fell down a hill outside his hotel, which left half his face covered in dark bruise and required him to initially wear an eye patch.
‘[Chevy] does not like to brag, but he fights crime late at night. You can thank him later,’ his rep joked.
But they quickly got serious and clarified that he had ‘just bumped his head in his hotel room rushing for a meeting,’ though the actor hasn’t commented on the incident personally.
