CBS is replacing ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ with a 20-year-old, half-hour-long, long-syndicated comedy show that studiously avoids politics.
Two consecutive episodes of Byron Allen’s ‘Comics Unleashed’ will air in the late-night program’s stead starting on May 22, CBS said in a statement Monday.
The coveted 11:35pm timeslot once belonged to David Letterman and will now return to trying to make viewers laugh, rather than lecturing them about the evils of Donald Trump.
