Taxes kept climbing. People moved. Population shrinking, tax base shrinks. Seems straight forward.
Time to cut back on taxes and things will rebound. I’m not a Trumpian but just cut taxes at the state level back to early 2000 levels and more people can afford to live in the state. Growing the tax base.
Oregon has the same problem on a smaller scale.

For those who don’t understand how government spending works. Here’s a little insight.
If an agency doesn’t spend the entire budget, next year their budget will be smaller, since they had excess. If they spend it all, next year they get to say look, we need more money we spent…
