A shooting at Paddock Mall in Ocala resulted in one man killed (identified as David Nathaniel Barron, 40), a woman shot in the leg, and multiple injuries. Police received the call at 3:40 p.m., responding to what was initially reported as an active shooter situation. The deceased male is believed to have been the shooter’s intended target. The shooter fled the scene, and as of 6:10 p.m., remained at large, though the weapon was recovered. Law enforcement initiated an aggressive response, and the mall was swiftly evacuated.
