All three passengers of a small aircraft died after the plane crashed and erupted into flames in Boca Raton, Florida on Friday morning.

The plane suffered from “some mechanical issues at takeoff and went down on Military Trail, about a mile from the airport,” Boca Raton Assistant Fire Chief Michael LaSalle said. A man driving a car near by the crash was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries after swerving into a tree as the plane crashed, he added.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
