A VERY Cold & Snowy Pattern Is Likely Upcoming…

We’re likely going to see Winter make a big comeback just after Christmas as we approach and head into January. Out long range telloconnections all point towards cold air making its way into the central and eastern states once again, boosting the chance that more of us see snowstorms.

Initially, we see a winter storm impacting the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast just before Christmas, when many of you will be travelling. December 23rd into Christmas Eve is the current timeframe we’re watching. Multiple inches of snowfall is possible, and we’re even watching for the threat of freezing rain. This will make Christmas travel very difficult and even dangerous for some.

After this, models point towards a colder pattern that features multiple opportunities for snowstorms in the east as our AO (Arctic Oscillation) and NAO (North Atlantic Oscillation) both go negative (cold phases).

Join us as we break down the model guidance and data to paint a picture of the weather conditions over the next couple of weeks.
