NYC’s budget cannot support any of that. Inflation will run out of control. Rent control has been tried several times in New York and has always failed, yet he wants to try it again. Rent control reduces supply because renting is no longer profitable. Why would anyone build or buy more rental units? Owners will sell their properties before that even happens. Socialism fails every time and continuing down this path could turn NYC red.
