According to MegaLag, Honey misrepresents itself to consumers, opens hidden tabs to simulate referral links, and prioritizes coupon codes from its partnering stores, even if better discounts are available elsewhere. This means that Honey could be taking commissions on sales that should have gone to influencers like Mr. Beast and Linus Tech Tips.
Mr. Beast, Marques Brownlee (MKBHD), and Linus Tech Tips have all previously promoted Honey in their videos. Linus Tech Tips alone had over 160 videos promoting Honey, which collectively garnered nearly 200 million views. However, once Linus Tech Tips became aware of Honey’s alleged deceptive practices, they ended their partnership but did not publicize the issue.
