The UK has recently completed a Carbon Credit Trial, setting a daily carbon allowance for each person. This initiative is part of the UK’s broader strategy to combat climate change and reduce emissions. Under the trial, individuals received a daily carbon allowance to cover activities like transportation, energy use, and other carbon-producing behaviors.

Participants were required to manage their activities within this allowance. If they exceeded their limit, they had to buy additional credits from others with surplus. The goal is to encourage more sustainable choices by creating a personal carbon trading system that incentivizes reducing one’s carbon footprint.
