Startup companies like Uber Lyft and Airbnb were all founded during the aftermath of the great financial crisis of 2008. And for a long time, these companies had a really good run because their venture capital backers were essentially subsidizing the price of their services making it extremely affordable for people who are already on a tight budget. But now that that’s no longer the case customers are turning their backs on these companies, which will likely lead to more layoffs, more job losses, and a deepening recession.
