80 years ago American men were selflessly storming the beaches in the Pacific, dodging flak in bombers over Germany, hunting U-Boats in the Atlantic, and racing armor across the deserts of North Africa. And women were working 12-hour shifts in factories, doing manual labor without complaint, to make the weapons the men used to do it.
