A California man was arrested after allegedly trying to bring a bomb through security at Sacramento International Airport on Saturday, May 30, the Department of Justice announced.

According to the complaint, the man attempted to go through a TSA checkpoint with a scarf covering his face and latex gloves on his hands.

Inside his carry-on bag, agents reportedly found an M-type explosive device and a torch lighter capable of lighting the explosive, as well as a knife, scissors and scissor blades, an aerosol can and zip ties.

They also found five cellphones, one of which had a 15-minute timer that was ready to start. Another had an ominous message from an unidentified number on the screen that stated, “we will be awaiting your call.”
