Trucks don’t lie. Seeing a lot of trucking signs on the highways that we are in a serious recession.

Sharing is Caring!

I drive deliveries on all the major highways in the NY Tristate Region at all hours of the day and night. I am seeing some very bad signs that we are in a Major League Economic slowdown by seeing what the trucks are doing.

Over the past 6 months, things are radically changing.

– There seems to be a lot fewer 18 wheelers on the major highways I drive.

– I see fewer big rigs parked overnight in the rest areas along the major highways. Some nights, they are only half full.

– A lot of the car carriers are half full or less of cars.

– A car carrier was parked idle near my office for over three weeks.

– I am seeing more and more trucks driving without trailers attached.

– I saw a big rig truck driving with a single car attached (delivery Or personal car?). Either way, this was a first to see this setup.

– I am seeing fewer and fewer of the pickup trucks with car carrier trailers. In fact, I haven’t seen any for a few weeks. They used to be everywhere.

– I used to see FedEx and UPS 18 wheelers all the time. Now it’s a whole lot less.

– I am seeing big rigs with the pickup truck car carriers attached. This is an odd setup.

– I am seeing a lot of flatbed trucks with no loads. This was less common six month ago.

– I am seeing much fewer of the National Trucking company trucks on the road.

I know the Government and the Media want us to believe that the economy is doing well. I don’t buy it. Trucks don’t lie.
