I can’t help but wonder, how many families are going through the same type of experiences.
We’d never hear about it, until it turns into a school shooting.
Report:
On 10/09/2022,
An officer was flagged down by a woman and she advised me that she was scared for her life. Her son, Matthew, goes by Matilda. Who lives with her, threatened her the previous day by telling her he would k*** her wih a knife. Matthew had called her and advised that he was returning to her house that morning, and she was scared. Melaney also advised that Matthew began stabbing the floor and had thrown things at her.
While the officer was talking to mom, her son Matthew began calling her. Officer was then available to speak with Matthew. Matthew advised the officer that everything was a significant miss understanding and that he argued with her mom the day before and left because things were escalating. The officer then asked Matthew if he had made any threats to her mom while they were arguing. Matthew advised that he did not, that he left and had gone to his grandma’s house, where he had an argument with his grandma and had left her house too, but while he was leaving, he had thrown a glass base and a chair.
Matthew then requested to speak with her mom, but she did not feel comfortable talking with him then. The officer then told the mom if she could take the officers to where the incident had occurred the previous day and she explained everything that happened.
Officers took four firearms, two handguns, one revolver, and one riffle from Matthew’s room. Officers put them in Athens Clarke County Police Department evidence room for safekeeping.
Officer then left the suspects mom’s house.
Later Matthew’s grandmother requested Central communication to speak to officers that were on the case. Margaret had concerns about Matthew and advised the officers that Matthew had returned to the mother’s house. Officers then drove to the home and saw the Gray Kia soul that Mom had stated Matthew had left.
Officers placed Matthew in the back of my vehicle then transported the suspect to the Athens Clarke County Jail.
