One of the leaders of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) has come out in favour of a victory by Donald Trump in the US presidential elections in November, citing his opposition to the war in Ukraine.

“I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed for Donald Trump,” Alice Weidel told national public broadcaster ZDF.
