The woman was set on fire while sleeping on the subway, tragically killing her. Her name was Debrina Kawam.

Kawam’s death was a horrific act. She was set on fire while sleeping, and despite attempts to extinguish the flames, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that she died from thermal and inhalational injuries. Zapeta was apprehended shortly after the incident and faces multiple charges.
