Texas cop who gave a homeless person a “poop sandwich” has been hired as chief of police

Matthew Luckhurst was fired from the San Antonia Police Department for giving a sleepy homeless person a “poop sandwich, “ which was pieces of dog poop on bread, in 2016.

Luckhurst was also accused of smearing feces on the only women’s restroom in the SAPD’s bike unit.

Benavides Police Department hired Luckhurst in 2023, a small town of 1,100 people, about 150 miles south of San Antonio.

BPD said they believe in giving second chances and that Luckhurst is adamant that the allegations about him are false.

Luckhurst was voted in by the city council and began his new role as Chief of Police on June 1st.
