With Taylor Swift’s Eras tour landing in Toronto and Vancouver for the next five weeks, doctors are warning parents about a new medical risk that could affect their teenage daughters called Swiftnesia.

Dani, a Taylor Swift fan from Chile, caught the Eras tour in Dublin, Ireland, after winning the global lottery. “We were so excited,” her mother tells GWU! over Microsoft Teams from Santiago. “We made a family holiday out of it. After the concert we picked her up and asked her how it was. That’s when the problem started.”

Dani explains to GWU! that she couldn’t remember anything from the concert. She knew she was there because she had footage on her phone, but from the moment Taylor appeared on the stage, she reflects, to the time the house lights came back on she has no recollection of anything that occurred.

And she’s not alone!
