So, a taste of home for illegals?

Sharing is Caring!

Murders, cartels, squalor: Inside ‘colony’ near Houston accused of being ‘haven for illegal aliens’.

PLUM GROVE, Texas — In the piney woods and wetlands 35 miles north of Houston, one of the biggest housing developments in the country has become one of the most controversial.

Colony Ridge, a sprawl of homes, trailers and even tents, is home to as many as 75,000 people in an area at least 50 percent bigger than Manhattan.

But next week, it will be the subject of a special session of the Texas legislature, ordered by Gov. Greg Abbott, because of claims it is a “no-go area,” a home to criminals and drug cartels, and a magnet for “illegal immigration.”

Texas’s 25 House Republicans, who’ve also called for an investigation, said it is “an optimal haven for illegal aliens amid a historic border crisis.”

NYC hospitals are overwhelmed by migrants.

It would be fair to argue that the title of this article could have been shortened considerably because pretty much all of New York City is overwhelmed by migrants now. Even the Mayor and the Governor have admitted as much and asked people arriving at the southern border to go elsewhere. (They’re ignoring that request so far.) But the city’s hospitals have been hit particularly hard. It’s nearly as difficult to find an empty hospital bed now as it was at the height of the pandemic. Many of the migrants arrive with or develop serious medical issues. And the vast majority of them have no jobs or money, they have no insurance, and they have no accessible medical records. This is placing a huge strain on the city’s hospitals and sucking up resources that legal residents still require. (NBC News)

The district has had 216 homicides this year, 38% more than at this point in 2022—and more than any full year from 2004 to 2020, police data show. By contrast, killings are down this year in big cities from coast to coast: by 24% in Los Angeles, 19% in Houston, 18% in Philadelphia, 12% in Chicago, and 11% in New York City.

DC continues experiencing soaring crime rates despite council chairman saying ‘there is no crime crisis’

Washington, D.C.’s crime rates have continued to skyrocket despite its city council chairman proclaiming earlier this year there is no crime crisis in the nation’s capital.

Democratic D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson told the House Committee on Oversight in late March that while there are considerable concerns regarding crime, residents should not worry.
