A secretive government agency used to “spy on” anti-lockdown campaigners during the pandemic has been deployed to monitor social media amid the riots, The Telegraph has learnt.
The Counter Disinformation Unit, now rebranded as the National Security Online Information Team, has been given the task just months after MPs called for an independent review of its activities…
The unit has “trusted flagger status”, which effectively gives it privileged access to social media moderators who make decisions on whether posts should be taken down, it is understood
Here they come: The Lockdown Stasi has found a new purpose. To spy on, monitor, track and trace the concocted “Far Right”
They got drunk on this power trip during COVID. Now, they’re back with a vengeance. This time, I think we will see major pushback https://t.co/w4A1gA8L2d
