Russia has escalated its military posture by putting the RS-28 Sarmat missile, also known as “Satan II,” on combat duty. This weapon is one of the most formidable in the Russian arsenal, capable of carrying up to 16 nuclear warheads and with a range of 11,000 miles. It’s designed to penetrate missile defense systems, making it a critical part of Russia’s strategic deterrence.

The Kremlin’s stance on Ukraine remains uncompromising. High-ranking officials, including Sergey Naryshkin, have declared that Russia categorically rejects any “freezing” of the front lines or the creation of a demilitarized zone. Their demand is clear: Ukraine must fully capitulate. For Russia, peace is only possible once the reasons behind its invasion are eliminated—essentially, the total defeat of Ukraine.
