Deadly wildfires in New Mexico burn thousands of acres

The South Fork and nearby Salt wildfires have scorched more than a combined 23,000 acres of tribal and government lands surrounding the village of Ruidoso and the Mescalero Apache Reserve, and both remain at 0% containment. Some 1,400 structures have been burned, and several more remain threatened, officials said.
