Up to 2,000 anti-LGBT protesters broke up a Pride festival in the Georgian capital Tbilisi on Saturday, clashing with police and setting fire to rainbow flags.
The festival had to be cancelled as attendees were evacuated to safety, but there were no reports of injuries.
Animosity toward sexual minorities is prevalent in the predominantly Orthodox Christian Georgia – and several previous LGBT events have previously been met with violent disruptions.
