Dramatic footage captured widespread flooding across southwestern Portugal on Wednesday, February 4, after the region was slammed by Storm Leonardo. “Severe flooding” in Alcacer do Sal, with numerous roads, homes, and businesses left underwater. According to Portuguese news reports citing officials, 89 people were rescued between Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday as the Sado River flooded its banks.
