November 1st, if you’re collecting Snap / EBT, you are required to work 80 hours

Here’s what’s changing:

  • Who must comply: Adults aged 18 to 64 who are physically and mentally able to work and do not have a dependent child under 14.
  • What counts: You must complete 80 hours per month (or 20 hours per week) of:
    • Paid employment or self-employment
    • Volunteer service with a government or nonprofit
    • Participation in approved job training or education programs
  • Reporting: You must document and report these hours to your state’s Department of Human Services. Failure to do so could result in benefits being limited to just 3 months in a 3-year period.
