New York’s Nassau County has officially banned the use of face masks in public places

Sharing is Caring!

Nassau County in New York has enacted a face mask ban that applies to non-religious and non-health-related facial coverings. The goal is to increase public safety by preventing violent protesters from hiding their identity. The ban, which became law on August 14, 2024, is the first of its kind in the United States. Violators could face a fine of up to $1,000 or up to a year in jail. However, it’s important to note that the legislation exempts face masks used for health or religious reasons, as well as cultural events where masks are customarily worn.
