Moscow has come under a massive drone assault, with Ukrainian forces launching long-range strikes deep into Russian territory. The latest attack targeted the Dubna Machine-Building Plant, a facility involved in the production of aviation, missile, and drone technology. This strike marks one of the most significant Ukrainian operations against Russian military infrastructure, signaling an escalation in the conflict.
Russian officials confirmed that 296 Ukrainian drones were intercepted across 12 regions, including Moscow. Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported that at least 42 drones were downed over the capital’s outskirts, with damage recorded in multiple locations. The scale of this operation suggests Ukraine is intensifying its efforts to disrupt Russia’s defense production.
The Kronshtadt military-industrial enterprise, located in Dubna, was also hit. This facility specializes in unmanned aerial systems, including the Orion reconnaissance and combat drones. Footage from the scene shows fires raging inside the plant, with structural damage visible. This strike directly targets Russia’s ability to manufacture advanced drone technology, a critical component of its war strategy.
Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport experienced flight delays due to the attack, adding to the disruption. Ukrainian officials claim the operation successfully struck multiple high-value targets, including the Technopark ELMA-Zelenograd facility, which develops microelectronics and robotics. These strikes are not random. They are calculated efforts to weaken Russia’s military-industrial complex.
Russia responded with its own aerial assault, launching six missiles and 88 strike drones into Ukraine overnight. Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 71 drones, but impacts were recorded in eight locations. The intensity of strikes from both sides continues to escalate, with no signs of de-escalation.
