GoFundMe say over 15,000 fundraisers for essential needs in Canada from January to May 2026. This is 8% more than same time last year.

Since 2020, campaigns with “cost of living” words up 274%.

Experts say this show gaps in social support and deeper poverty problem.

Crowdfunding not always work well. Only small percent reach full goal. It depend on good story and personal network.

Food bank use almost double since 2019.
