Massive wildfires are currently burning across North and South Carolina, fueled by dry conditions, strong winds, and debris left by Hurricane Helene. These fires have scorched thousands of acres, destroyed homes, and forced evacuations.

In North Carolina, Polk County is battling three major fires: the Black Cove Fire (over 2,000 acres), the Deep Woods Fire (more than 2,500 acres), and the Fish Hook Fire (199 acres, 50% contained). South Carolina is also facing significant challenges, with the Table Rock Fire in Pickens County burning over 1,300 acres and the Persimmon Ridge Fire in Greenville County consuming 800 acres. Both fires remain uncontained.
