🇺🇸🌋 A geyser at Biscuit Basin in Yellowstone National Park had a sizable eruption minutes ago. The USGS lists the eruption as 'small' and states volcanic activity remains 'at background' | @docinkc pic.twitter.com/2em5vAjghq

there was a significant hydrothermal explosion at Yellowstone National Park’s Biscuit Basin on July 23, 2024. The explosion occurred near the Black Diamond Pool, sending boiling water, steam, and debris into the air. This event damaged a pedestrian boardwalk and forced the closure of the area for safety reasons.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the volcanic activity in the region remains at normal levels. Hydrothermal explosions like this are relatively common in Yellowstone and are not indicative of impending volcanic eruptions.
