Montenegro, a nation of just over 620,000 people, is rarely shaken by such violent incidents. The attack, however, has reignited concerns over gun control and law enforcement’s ability to prevent tragedies involving individuals with known violent histories.
The government has declared three days of mourning, with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić calling for an urgent review of the country’s gun laws. The tragedy has also sparked discussions on a potential nationwide ban on firearms.
