Mass blackouts hit Balkans…

Power outages have been reported across Europe, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.

Power operators in the four countries said they were investigating what caused the blackouts, which have left countless without electricity amid intense heat.

The string of blackouts rippled out of Montenegro after a 400-kilowatt transmission line exploded, the national newspaper Vijesti reported.

It said there was an outage on the network of the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES).

Traffic lights have even stopped working, according to local news outlet DAN Portal.
