Auburn men’s basketball head coach Bruce Pearl expressed his astonishment at the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump but found inspiration in Trump’s unwavering resilience and composure during the assassination attempt on his life.

Following the violent attack over the weekend that left Trump with a graze wound and resulted in the tragic loss of one life, Pearl shared his thoughts on the Outkick podcast Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich, as reported by Fox News.

“My first reaction was: How was this possibly happening? Is it real?” Pearl recounted.

“And when he got up pretty quickly, I prayed, I immediately asked God to watch over him, and praying for him in that particular moment,” he continued.
