I keep seeing people share this and talk about how things are so different than what it once was. How sad everything looks, no fun, no color, no imagination. We can of course talk about cost, it’s cheaper to do the bland look. However, these are chain restaurants, they’re not hurting for money. Here’s my take on it after I remembered the psychology/science behind colors/symbols proves they impact our mood …. so what if the lack of design also impacts our mood? To become more ‘dull’ and accept dullness as the new normal?

Subconscious programming. The puppet masters love when we don’t thrive, are uninspired, disconnected and confused. Strip away the uniqueness, replace fun with uniformity, and boom – you’ve got millions of people feeling a low-grade “blah” without knowing why.

What’s your take on how everything is beginning to look like the inside of a DMV waiting room? Mine in short is – to decrease the power of our brains/emotions and keep us low so ‘they’ can continue to thrive from the collectives misery.
