Job Openings Dropping Like A Rock In Every State!

Sharing is Caring!

The number of job openings has declined significantly in every state since 2022. This trend reflects a shift in the labor market, bringing the numbers of unfilled jobs and job seekers into better alignment. Nationally, for the first time since before the pandemic, the ratio of job openings to unemployed individuals is approximately balanced—slightly more than one opening per person seeking work1. During the peak of the labor shortage in 2022, there were two job openings per job seeker, but as of April, that ratio has decreased to 1.2 openings per person.
