Dubai: Iran’s state TV has confirmed on Sunday (March 1, 2026) that Iran’s Supreme Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is dead.

Khamenei, 86, has been the spiritual and political linchpin of the Islamic Republic for more than three decades.

Iran confirms the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and declares 40 days of national mourning

The Government of Iran officially confirmed the death of the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, following recent attacks attributed to Israel and the United States.
