New council in Arizona investigates homeowners insurance non-renewals

The state created a new group called the Resiliency and Mitigation Council to investigate non-renewals and insurance affordability in wildfire-prone areas.

“This council was actually formed to try to get ahead of some of this that we’re seeing in our state as far as non-renewals, cancelations, and just wildfires in general,” Munn said. “Obviously, we’re looking at what’s happening in other states as well, and how can we combat that from happening here in our state? What can we do to mitigate and not make sure we’re getting to that panic situation?
