Recent polls indicate a surprising trend: the more Trump faces indictments, the higher he rises in popularity. While correlation doesn’t necessarily imply causation, this phenomenon sheds light on a deep-seated distrust in the justice system and the Department of Justice (DOJ) among Americans.
In a new Bloomberg/MC poll focusing on swing states, Trump emerges with significant leads:
- Arizona: Trump +4
- Georgia: Trump +6
- Michigan: Trump +4
- Nevada: Trump +3
- North Carolina: Trump +9
- Pennsylvania: Trump +2
- Wisconsin: Trump +4
This unexpected surge comes amid ongoing legal challenges and investigations against Trump. The results underscore a prevailing skepticism in the public regarding the motives and integrity of the justice system.
A notable development in this context is the tough sentencing of former FBI Counterintelligence Chief Charles McGonigal. He received over four years in prison for accepting secret payments from a sanctioned Russian oligarch. This sentencing punctuates the downfall of a high-ranking official within the FBI, raising questions about the integrity of the institution.
Meanwhile, Representative Clay Higgins has vowed to take down leaders within the FBI who allegedly framed Trump supporters on January 6th. He confidently asserts, “They’re going down, these men in their high perch. They’re not going to get away with it.” This assertion resonates with a growing sentiment among Trump supporters, contributing to a 14-point swing and providing Trump with a significant 10-point advantage.
In the face of legal challenges, Trump’s increasing popularity challenges conventional expectations, emphasizing the deep distrust many Americans harbor toward key institutions responsible for upholding justice. As the political landscape evolves, these dynamics may continue to shape public opinion in unexpected ways.
The more Trump is indicted, the more he rises in the polls.
That correlation doesn't prove causation, but what it does prove is that most Americans have so much distrust in the justice system and DOJ that even felony indictments don't undermine Trump's standing with the public: t.co/1uHc1dttlz

Trump support erupts; 14-point swing provides 10-point advantage.
Voters over the past month have swung behind former President Donald Trump, wiping out President Joe Biden’s 4-point lead to put the Republican on top by double digits.
In the latest Rasmussen Reports poll shared with Secrets, Trump now leads Biden by 10 points, 48%-38%.
The survey also showed good support for third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In a three-way battle, Kennedy would get 16%, up from 12% a month ago.
Still, he would lose to Trump, but in a closer race with the former president at 40% and Biden at 32%.
