In a landmark decision, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey has passed a bill endorsing the Protocol on Sweden’s accession to NATO. The proposal received overwhelming support, with 287 votes in favor out of 346 participating deputies. Despite 55 deputies voting against the proposal and 4 abstaining, Sweden is set to become the 32nd country in NATO after a year in candidate status.
