There are literally more people working for for-profit insurance than there are doctors and nurses working to save your lives.

Hint: socialized medicine has a fraction of the overhead vs private insurance, and delivers better results.
Look at life expectancy and costs in other OECD countries.

Oddly enough, this is one of the few areas where I agree with people on either side of the aisle. I said as much in the NYT when Obamacare was being crafted. Giving over our system to big insurance and hospital systems has been an unmitigated disaster.
