Govt Worker Freaks Out At Remote Work Crackdown

Sharing is Caring!

A sweeping crackdown on remote work for federal employees is causing a massive uproar. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), helmed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, is pushing to end telework across federal agencies. This drastic move has ignited fierce backlash from government workers who’ve become accustomed to the flexibility of working from home.

“Requiring federal employees to come to the office five days a week would result in a wave of voluntary terminations that we welcome,” The Wall Street Journal reported, quoting a key DOGE official.

The push to return all federal employees to in-office work is expected to lead to a significant number of voluntary terminations. “The implication that federal employees are not working in-person is simply not backed up by data and reality,” said Everett Kelley, president of the American Federation of Government Employees. Despite this, the crackdown continues as part of a larger effort to overhaul the federal workforce.
