A worldwide digital currency is the final hill to die on for our global oligarchs. If you have unapproved opinions about war or pandemics or etc, then BAM, your access to your own money is shut off.
This is merely a gradual ban on cash, and they will apply more restrictions as time goes on. A frog put into boiling water will hop right out, but if you slowly increase the heat, it will quietly cook.
