The ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment for Germany has indeed experienced a significant decline recently. In August 2024, the index dropped to 19.2 from 41.8 in July, marking the largest decline since July 20221. This sharp drop reflects growing concerns among financial market experts about Germany’s economic outlook.
