Germany unemployment rate ticked up to 6%, total unemployed at 2.78mm

In June 2024, Germany’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 6%, marking the highest rate since May 2021. The number of jobless individuals increased by 19,000, bringing the total unemployed to 2.78 million. This represents the 18th consecutive monthly increase in unemployment. A 6% unemployment rate can be considered relatively high, especially for a country like Germany.
