When Hale tried to remove Johnson’s belongings and called the police, officers shockingly sided with the squatter. They claimed Hale lacked a signed writ of possession, the legal document required for eviction enforcement. As a result, Hale was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats.
