Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal was evacuated this morning following a security incident involving a suspicious item found in luggage. Authorities responded quickly at 8:20 a.m. on November 22, 2024, with Sussex Police and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team deployed as a precaution.
A large part of the South Terminal has been evacuated as a precaution while we continue to investigate a security incident.

As of now, the terminal remains sealed off, with no entry allowed until the situation is resolved. The disruption has affected over 100,000 passengers, causing widespread delays and cancellations. The Gatwick Express train service has also been suspended.
Authorities have ensured a security cordon is in place to protect public safety while they investigate. Travelers are advised to stay clear of the area.
