FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr has criticized the government’s decision to not collaborate with SpaceX’s Starlink for rural broadband expansion, arguing that it leads to significantly higher costs. He claims that instead of leveraging Starlink’s capabilities, the government is spending millions more, raising the cost per rural location from approximately $1,300 to as much as $100,000.
