The FBI’s discovery of over 150 homemade explosives at Brad Spafford’s Virginia farm has sent shockwaves across the nation. Spafford, a 36-year-old machine shop worker, was arrested after a neighbor reported his suspicious activity involving weapons and homemade ammunition. The FBI’s investigation led to the horrifying find—pipe bombs labeled “lethal,” a jar of unstable HMTD explosive, and a chilling notebook filled with grenade recipes. The explosives were scattered across the farm, including in a backpack marked “#nolivesmatter” and a bomb-laden wearable vest. Disturbingly, Spafford had even stored explosive material in his freezer next to food, clearly labeled “Do Not Touch.”

What makes this discovery even more chilling are Spafford’s unsettling statements to neighbors, claiming he was “preparing for something” he “would not be able to do alone.” These ominous words are now cast in an even darker light after the recent attacks. In Las Vegas, a Tesla Cybertruck rigged with a detonation system exploded outside the Trump International Hotel, killing one and injuring seven. In New Orleans, a vehicle-turned-weapon driven by Shamsud-Din Jabbar plowed into a crowded Bourbon Street, killing 15 and injuring dozens. Both attacks involved vehicles and IEDs, making the timing of this farm discovery even more troubling.
